I decided to use Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Maverick, former MVP and NBA champion, for my READ poster inspiration. Dirk Nowitzki is seen as a local hero among many in the Dallas community. He is also an international hero, and is considered by many to be the greatest European player to ever play the game of basketball. Aside from his success on the court, Dirk Nowitzki is known for his charitable work, created the Dirk Nowitzki foundation, signs thousands of autographs and makes hundreds of appearances each year, especially for children. He won the NBA Community Assist award in 2007, an award honoring community effort and philanthropy work. Dirk Nowitzki loves giving back to children and the community. He is an MVP, NBA champion, FIBA champion, and role model.
